Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure used to treat and eliminate varicose veins and spider veins. This procedure is a time proven treatment that has been used since the 1930s. A tiny needle is used to inject a medication that irritates the lining of the vein. In response, the vein collapses and is reabsorbed. Depending on the type and number of veins being treated, one or multiple sclerotherapy sessions will be required, and have several injections per session.
