What is O-Shot®?
The Orgasm Shot® or “O-shot®” is a revolutionary non-surgical treatment that was designed to rejuvenate vaginal and clitoral function and sensitivity. It has brought dramatic enhancement to the quality of a woman’s sexual experience by addressing the concerns of dryness and the inability to reach orgasm.
How does the procedure work?
The O-Shot® is a very specific procedure, first performed by Dr. Charles Runels, which uses the patient’s own drawn blood-derived growth factors to stimulate vaginal and clitoral rejuvenation. Platelet rich plasma (PRP) extracted from the blood are then placed in a syringe and injected into an area near the clitoris and just inside the vagina. The injected PRP then stimulates the growth of new cells making those areas more sensitive to the touch.
Local or topical anesthesia is applied, and the 30 minute – 1 hour procedure is done in-office. There is no downtime after receiving the injection. Many women have reported positive results in their sexual enjoyment as early as the same day.
Who would benefit from O-Shot®?
Women who would be good candidates for the O-Shot® procedure would be those who have trouble achieving orgasms, have lack of sexual desire, experience vaginal dryness, and suffer from stress or urge incontinence. Because of the O-Shot® procedure’s revitalizing capabilities, an additional benefit is the decreased issue of urinary incontinence.
What are some conditions can be helped with O-Shot®?
- Decreased libido (sex drive)
- Stress urinary incontinence
- Dryness (with resulting painful intercourse) from Menopause or from Breast Cancer Treatment
- Decreased ability to orgasm
- Urge urinary incontinence
- Lichen sclerosus
- Lichen planus
- Postpartum fecal incontinence
- Chronic pain from trauma from child birth (episiotomy scars)
- Chronic pain from mesh
- Chronic interstitial cystitis
Can O-Shot®be combined with other procedures?
O-Shot® is often done in combination with other treatments in order to restore sexual function and aesthetic appeal to the most intimate area of a woman’s body. Whether due to age, child bearing or surgery, the natural elasticity of the vagina begins to diminish. Using O-Shot® along with radio frequency treatments, can completely rejuvenate the vaginal area, increase lubrication and help with incontinence issues.
Is the O-Shot® safe?
Because the patient is being injected with their own plasma rich platelets, the risk of harmful side effects is very low. There may be a minimal risk of punctuate bleeding at the injection site or a bruise on the blood vessel, but these are not permanent and should clear up in a few days. Urinary retention is a rare and very short-lived side effect if it does happen. To prevent untrained providers of the procedure, any licensed medical professional who administers the O-Shot® must be certified in the procedure.
